Mannnn, it’s looking like the snowpocolypse of January and February 2014 is nothing compared to what’s about to happen in the next three days for New York, Jersey and Connecticut. I’m not ready. New York might be though. More on the click.
In a press conference last night, New York Mayor, Bill de Blasio gave warnings about what might be the worst winter snowstorm on record:
“We are facing, most likely, one of the largest snowstorms in the history of this city,” Mayor de Blasio told reporters Sunday.
“Now is the time to get ready for this extreme weather,” de Blasio added. “Don’t underestimate this storm. Even walking should be kept to a minimum.”
Imagine – even walking might be an issue. Days like this make me miss Lagos.
Lol on a serious note though, if you live in the Northeast region, prepare to be at home for the next couple of days. as the National Weather Service is predicting that records could be broken with the amount of snow we’re about to get:
The prior all-time snow record for Jan. 26, 2011, when 12.3 inches fell, followed the next day by another 6.7 inches, records show. The city’s all-time record occurred Feb. 11-12, 2006, when New York was blanketed with 26.9 inches, according to city officials.
“We are already forecasting more than that,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Joe Pollina. “It is a potentially historic storm.”
Stay safe, folks!
