In an interview with Joy FM, 2012 presidential aspirant – the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom – spoke about his feelings towards being president of Ghana, the assertion that PPP was a small Party compared to the NDC and more. Highlights after the click.
Highlights from the Joy FM interview –
On being President of Ghana:
He said on Joy FM Wednesday morning that, “I don’t have to be president of the Republic of Ghana to be fulfilled …This is time for nation building, so I’m devoting myself to help the nation build. If it comes time for politics, well we will do it”.
“I’m doing work everywhere and I like what I’m doing…I am working in this country in a private capacity to help build the country and create job opportunities and in due course, I think the people of Ghana will get to know that I am not obsessed with politics, I am not obsessed with being in public office. I will continue to do what I need to do for the people of Ghana and for myself,” he added.
On the PPP’s Size vs. Competing Parties:
He also dismissed the assertion that the PPP was a small party compared to the likes of the NDC and NPP, adding that the party was made up of technocrats who are willing to contribute their part to nation building should the PPP be given the mandate in 2016.
“People vote, if everybody in Ghana decides that tomorrow they’ll vote for the PPP, it will win…There are lawyers, teachers, nurses, engineers who are part of the PPP…It will not always be NDC, NPP…The power is with the Ghanaian people, they will decide what they want to do in the future,” he said.
