Like many of our favorite celebrities, we went away for a little bit to get a face lift. Don’t worry, we’re back to business now. Details on what to look forward to this year, after the click.
Hey folks, it’s Lola, your hostess with the mostess here at Giist.com. First let me say, HAPPY 2015! I hope you had a great holiday season and 2015 has been treating you well so far. And I hope you’re still on top of what you promised to do for your News Year’s Resolutions. If you’re not, that’s okay because I think I dropped many of mine by Jan 4th :p
Giist though, was high up on my list and its growth is definitely continuing in this 2015. As you may know, I pulled Giist offline for a few weeks to 1) give it a new, cleaner, bit more mature look and 2) figure out how Giist will stand out this year, and going forward. And now the new look is mostly ready (drop a note and let me know what you think) and I have a clearer vision for what we’re getting into this year. Here are some highlights:
1) Shop – I’m excited to say Giist now has it’s own shop/store. Each day, new products will be added that cater to the Giist reader – cool, contemporary, smart, funny, and African or into African music, clothes, lifestyle, events, etc.
2) Inbox Love – So many great people signed up to join the Giist email list while the site was down and all of you will get some inbox love this year. Deals from the Shop, Exclusives only the email list will be privy to, etc. Check your inboxes soon.
3) Events – Not only will we be publicizing more happenings but the goal is also to host an event that brings Giist readers together for something fun before the end of 2015. All the talk we do around music, celebrity, fashion, lifestyle, etc – it makes sense to do something as a community of gbedu-loving* people. Look out for that in late 2015.
There’s a lot in store so make sure to stay tuned to Giist.
With that, I’ll leave you with the song my friend started to sing when I told him Giist was coming back online:
