In fact, I actually kind of liked it. My reasons why, after the jump.
Back in late Feb of this year, a few photos from the set of Tonto Dikeh‘s newest video, Sugar Rush, hit the net. This week, the actress turned artist revealed the full, finished video and to my surprise, I actually liked it. Here’s why:
- Tonto doesn’t appear to be taking her self too seriously. She’s clearly not out here trying to be Tiwa Savage. That wouldn’t work because her vocals are just not the same. But it does look like she’s having a good time in the vid and that’s half the entertainment value.
- The video had a storyline that you could actually understand/follow. (Don’t you hate when you see a video and the storyline has nothing to do with the actual song…lol very annoying.)
- The dancers were so off at some points that it was just hilarious. Obviously this wasn’t meant to be a crazy perfect vid. It was just fun.
So taking the video in that light, I didn’t think it was bad at all. Watch Tonto Dikeh’s Sugar Rush, with cameos from DB Records Boss, Dbanj, and label artists 2Kriss, and DeeVee below:
The video was directed by Moe Musa.
What did you think of it?
