International pop star and nine-time Grammy award winner, Justin Timberlake, might be facing jail time for taking a selfie.
The Singer posted a photo of himself on Instagram while in a polling station , which would normally not be a big deal but unfortunately for Justin, he did that while in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. Tennessee is one of the many states in the US where photography inside a voting booth is illegal.
Tennessee law prohibits voters from recording or taking photographs or videos while inside a polling station. A person convicted of this violation could be sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined $50.
It’s yet to be seen if Timberlake would actually spend time in jail, but the Shelby County, Tennessee district attorney’s office on Tuesday said it was aware of a possible violation of state election law and was reviewing the matter.
