Last month, the GWB Commission held its 6th Annual Green, White and Blue Ball to celebrate Sierra Leone’s 53rd Independence Anniversary. Prominent Sierra Leonians were honored and some of the ankara outfits worn – top notch! Pics on the click.
The theme of the event (which took place at the Fillmore, Silver Spring) was ”Eras: The Sierra Leone Experience” aimed to pay homage to Sierra Leone’s history and its resilience. Several notable Sierra Leonians were honored for their achievements and representation of Sierra Leone including United Nations Special Representative on Sexual Violence Zainab Bangura (Lifetime Achievement), International Artists Bajah and Dry Eye, (Arts and Entertainment) and civil war survivor Memuna Mansaray (Sports).
