E be like say Wizkid doesn’t even know he’s fighting with people lol! He weighs in on the two folks in the music industry he’s apparently beefing with – producer, Samklef and singer, Saeon; catch what he says on camera, after the click.
First, a little context. In the last few weeks, both Samklef and Saeon have expressed ill feelings towards Wizkid, with Samklef commenting:
“I’m not happy with Wizkid. I like his music, but I don’t like him as a person anymore. The reason I don’t like him anymore is, why do you go about spoiling other people’s business? I never spoiled your business, never came out to say anything bad about you for four years. So why would you go to an OAP and tell the OAP that the reason why you no longer work with me is because my beat is amateur. What does that mean?
Aside from that, Samklef is said to also be upset that he only made N250,000 from producing music for Wizkid’s debut album, Superstar. That was the price set at the time but those close to the situation have noted that he believes he should have gotten more since since the album was such a success.
Regarding Saeon, she posted on social media that:
Folks be like I never charge artistes for features, but I’m 1.5m short and I couldn’t even get a retweet, anyway it’s turn by turn
Though she doesn’t named Wizkid specifically, the shade thrown is clearly at him. He charged her N1.5mn for their collabo track, Boogie Down. Since the video, Wizkid apparently hasn’t been responding to her at all, igging her phone calls, etc.
Recently, Wiz was interviewed recently about his feelings on the matta(s) and here’s what he had to say:
His reaction towards the Samklef issue seems genuine so not sure what to believe on that one. The response to Saeon though? He appears completely #unbothered . Like it was strictly a business transaction, if she didn’t like it, o well.
What do you think?
